How to Choose a GPT Site
By Terri | November 2, 2008
With so many GPT sites out there how do you know which ones are right for you? Should you sign up for them all and try your luck at recruiting new members to earn referral commissions? Or should you just stick with one or two GPT sites? It can become overwhelming, so I thought I’d tell you my theories on this and maybe that’ll help you decide what’s right for you.
I belong to 30 or 40 GPT sites. My decision to join so many GPT sites was based on the fact that I enjoy recruiting new referrals and helping people get started on their quest to earn money from home. Do I work all of these programs? No. But I do have them listed on my website, http://thegptsource.com, and people do sign up for them from my site. I only actively promote a handful of these sites, but because so much traffic flows through my site, even though I’m not actively promoting these GPT sites, I earn $5 or $6 dollars a month from each one of them, not including the sites that I do actively promote. This nets me an average of $200 a month. Not bad money coming from GPT sites that I don’t do anything to promote other than throwing a link up on my webpage. The GPT’s that I do promote pay me an average of $1500 a month. (If you’d like to know how I do this read my free eBook “The Ultimate Guide to GPT Referrals.”
As for myself, I actively work at about 5 sites. The GPT sites that I personally work with are Gangster Greed and Cash Lagoon because they both pay daily, credit quickly, and are very easy to reach the minimum for payout ($10 for Gangster Greed and only $2 for Cash Lagoon). This is important to me for two reasons. First because it gives me “in between” money. I always have cash in between larger paychecks. Secondly it gives me plenty of opportunities to post my proof of payment on forums, bringing in more traffic to my website and therefore more referrals.
The other GPT sites that I like to work with are CashCrate because their daily surveys make it easy to earn money, plus in my experience with them they credit well. I easily earned $42 the first few days I worked with this GPT site. Fairy Tale Treasures because their GPT site offers tons of ways to earn money FAST - one page email / zip submits, a daily trivia game, daily survey which pays out a bonus $5 each month for completing 10 surveys that month, paid to click ads, and promo codes. Squishy Cash because of their 3 daily surveys and tons of contests and promotions. And finally, the last GPT site that I spend my time at is My Cash Safari, because they run a lot of contests and promotions as well as sending out many and promo codes.
Don’t miss tomorrow’s article “My Secret Formula to Higher Referral Earnings” where I’ll be talking about which GPT sites I recommend referring others to that will help you easily build up your referral income.

My Secret Formula to Higher Referral Earnings
By Terri | October 25, 2008
Yesterday I talked about my favorite GPT sites, and why they are my favorites. Today I wanted to tell you which GPT sites I promote most heavily to pick up referrals, and why I’ve chosen these particular sites.
To make the most from your referrals it makes sense to put a little time and thought into planning your strategy. Here is my secret formula for higher referral earnings:
All GPT sites offer some sort of referral structure, paying you for referrals on anywhere from 1 to 5 levels. Some GPT sites pay 20% referral commissions but only pay on one level, where others pay less commission per level but pay on multiple levels.
You will also find that most GPT sites pay monthly, however there are several that pay either daily, several times a week, or twice a month. To make the most out of your GPT referrals you should be looking at striking a balance between the GPT’s that pay more but on only one level and the ones that pay several levels deep. The reason for this is that although you will earn commissions quickly from 1 level referral structured GPT sites; they will also dry up quickly if you stop promoting them for any length of time. One level referral commissions are completely dependant on you supplying a constant flow of new referrals. This isn’t as hard as you may think… Several of the GPT sites that offer the higher 1 level commissions tend to also be the sites that either pay daily or weekly. These are VERY easy to promote.
I like to take my children camping several times a year and yet I know that if I take a few weeks off, when I come home my referral commissions from the one level structured GPT sites will have begun to plummet. This is why it’s so important for me to also promote GPT sites that offer referral commissions several levels deep. Once I recruit referrals on my 1st level many of them will go on to recruit referrals of their own, giving me second level referrals. As these referrals recruit new members, I gain 3rd level referrals, etc. It takes a little time to trickle down before I earn much on my 2nd and 3rd levels, but that’s ok since I’m also promoting the one level commission structured sites, where commissions come very quickly. By striking this balance I’m being paid quickly and steadily, but also building up residual income at the same time.
The GPT sites that I promote most heavily are pretty similar to the sites that I work at the most myself, mainly because these are sites that I believe in and who have paid me consistently and always on time. They are also sites that fit into my formula for higher earnings with GPT sites.
They are:
- Cash Crate because they offer 3 daily surveys, making it easy for my referrals to consistently earn money, which by extension means that I am consistently earning money. My other motivation for choosing CashCrate to promote heavily is their incredibly high referral commissions. When you first start out they pay you 20% of your referral’s earnings and 10% of their referral’s earnings. You are also paid a $3.00 bonus for each referral that meets the $10 minimum payout. Once you reach 50 referrals you then earn 25% on your first level referrals. This is a very powerful referral structure, and since this this site pays daily, I receive a consistent flow of payments.
- Gangster Greed has everything that I look for in choosing a site to promote. They pay daily (this makes them very easy to promote), they have a low minimum to cashout ($10), and they have an extremely lucrative referral commission plan. They pay a high 25% 1st level commission and also pay referral commissions on unlimited levels.
- Cash Lagoon Is another daily paying GPT site. I LOVE Cash Lagoon and so do my referrals! I get a continual flow of referral commission notices throughout the day and night. I just love seeing all of those “Cash Lagoon Referral Credited” subject lines in my email box! They pay 15% of your referral’s earnings.
- Squishy Cash pays a high 20% commission on 1st level referrals, 5% second level and 2% 3rd level. Squishy Cash has always been one of my favorite GPT sites because offers always seem to credit well and credit quickly and they run TONS of very lucrative contests and promotions.
- Fairy Tale Treasures Offers 3 levels of referral commissions. Because they offer so many options to earn money; daily surveys, daily trivia questions, one page email / zip submits, paid to click ads, promo codes, and of course offers my referrals do very well on this site. They do pay slightly less than the other sites I have listed here for referral commissions, (15%, 5%, and 2%), but with so many ways to earn money my referrals consistently earn more here than most other sites…. And for me, 15% referral commissions on $600 is better than 20% on a site where my referrals earned $700.
- Cash2Grab is included in my top sites to promote for 2 reasons… First because they pay daily, (all sites that pay daily are easy to promote) and second becasue of their incredibly high 30% 1st level referral commissions. The fact that they have a $2 minimum to cashout also doesn’t hurt
- This Site is for Real is on this list because of their very, very lucrative referral pay. They pay on 6 referral levels, starting out at 20% on the 1st level then 5% on the next 5.
Squishy Cash, Fairy Tale Treasures, This Site is for Real, and CashCrate all satisfy my motivation to promote GPT’s that give me long term residual income while Gangster Greed and Cash Lagoon earn me money immediately. I have found this to be a perfect balance. For more information on gaining referrals read my free eBook, “The Ultimate Guide to GPT Referrals.”

GPT (get paid to) Sites VS. Survey Sites, What’s the Difference?
By Terri | September 28, 2008
I am asked this question often so I thought I’d take a minute to explain the differences between GPT sites and survey sites. GPT sites act as a middle man between the advertiser and consumer.
The survey’s you’ll find on GPT sites are typically thinly disguised sales ploys. We’ve all seen them, most of us have even spent a few minutes filling one out. My email box is often filled with offers like these… “Fill Out a Free Survey to Claim Your Free Apple IPod” or “Win $500 In Groceries” only to finally realize that in order to actually get that Apple IPod you’re going to have to sign up for several offers and get your friends to do the same. With all of the changes in the telemarketing industry over the past few years, the “No Call List” being the final blow, advertisers have had to come up with new more innovative advertising techniques, and this is a prime example of one of them. However, with all of the anti-spam regulations the problem then became how to get traffic to these “survey” sites. This is when GPT Sites stepped up to the plate. In exchange for supplying leads to these advertisers, they are given a commission, which they in turn share with us, the lead. Now instead of filling out a survey in hopes of claiming my Apple iPod I am paid by the GPT Site to fill out the survey. Basically I am being paid to be a lead, doing the very same thing I used to do for free. I am also paid to refer others to GPT sites. This works for all of us, the GPT Site owners are paid, my referrals are paid, their referrals are paid, I’m paid, we’re all happy. GPT sites list all of their offers and tell you what you’ll be paid for completing each offer. To get started earning money with GPT Sites check out one of my favorites, Cash Crate. For a full list of GPT sites visit My Website.
Unlike GPT sites which are basically paying you to be a lead, survey sites conduct market research. You are paid to give your opinion about products and services that you have used, or that you may use in the future. Occasionally you’ll be asked to become a part of a focus group. Also unlike GPT sites, survey sites don’t have a list of surveys for you to choose from. When first signing up at survey sites they’ll ask you a series of questions to gather information that will be useful for market research. When they have a survey that fits your demographics they’ll email you and ask you to participate in that particular survey Survey’s you complete for market research pay anywhere from a few dollars to $50 but aren’t as readily available as the offers on GPT sites. This is one of the survey sites that I do well with. It’s a good example and they pay you $5 to sign up - Panda Research. If you plan to take surveys to add some extra income each month I highly recommend signing up for several survey sites. In this way you’ll get more survey offers. Here’s a list of some of the survey sites I belong to:
Synovate
Survey Networks
Neilson Ratings
Permission Research
ECN Research
The Net Panel
Panda Research
Surveys4Profit

Visualization - The Key to Achieving Your Goals
By Terri | April 2, 2008
There is absolutely no better way of staying focused than by setting goals and there is no better way of achieving goals then by visualization. Visualize exactly where would like to be this time next week, next month, in six months, or in a year. Now find a way to remind yourself of what you’re working for, a way to keep a visual account of what your ultimate goal is. For me it’s becoming completely debt free, and I’m doing this so that my family can live in financial peace. Once I clearly defined my goals I held a family meeting and had each of my children write down one goal they have for their future and what they will need to accomplish it. One of my children wants to become a photographer, to accomplish this she needs a camera and she would like to take photography lessons. Another wants to become a gymnast, she needs gymnastic classes. I have 10 children so I won’t list all of their goals, but you get the idea.
On the wall in my home office that I face as I’m working, we put together a huge collage. In the center I have a debt chart where I’m keeping track of how much debt I pay off each month and how much closer that brings me to my ultimate goal of becoming debt free. Surrounding my debt chart is a picture of each one of my children, next to them is a picture they chose to represent their goal. This visual presentation not only gives me a constant reminder of what I’m working for, it gives my entire family a reminder of why Mom is working so hard. By doing this they all feel that they are a part of our home business and take their roles as helpers very seriously. I’ve noticed since I implemented my visual presentation my children interrupt me less often during my “business hours,” they have become more self sufficient, and they help around the house more, and I get more done, and we all feel an enormous sense of accomplishment as we see the numbers on our debt chart dropping.
Focus - Visualize - Accomplish!
